Gautam Chandra Sarkar joined us in February (and for some reason we hadn’t written a post about it!). Gautam recently finished his PhD in the National Institute of Immunology (Jawaharlal Nehru University) in India in the lab of Arnab Mukhopadhyay. Gautam will be examining the roles of RNA epitranscriptomics in regulating aging and the molecular mechanisms of transgenerational epigenetic inheritance. A belated but much needed welcome to Gautam!

Aditi Kishore, a recent graduate of Marquette Senior High School here in St. Louis, has joined us for the summer. Aditi will be working on novel mechanisms of transgenerational epigenetic inheritance in C. elegans. Julianna Escudero, a graduate student in the Division of Biology & Biomedical Sciences graduate program at Wash U, began her rotation this week. Julianna will be examining the role of epigenetics in the evolution of multicellularity using Dictyostelium discodieum. Welcome Aditi and Julianna!

We are very excited that Ariel Telger has officially joined the lab as a graduate student. Ariel’s work will focus on deciphering the molecular mechanisms of transgenerational epigenetic inheritance in the nematode C. elegans. Welcome Ariel!
